Introducción: Empoderar a las mujeres rurales es esencial para superar barreras en su contexto. Este estudio identifica las variables clave y características que influyen en su empoderamiento dentro de la agricultura. Metodología mediante la técnica del análisis de contenido se ha revisado la literatura existente sobre el tema. Resultados: El análisis reveló que el desarrollo personal, la educación y capacitación, la salud y el bienestar, la autonomía económica, la toma de decisiones, el liderazgo, las redes de apoyo y la legislación son factores clave para medir el empoderamiento de las mujeres rurales en el ámbito de la agricultura. Discusión: El compromiso continuo de las autoridades locales es fundamental para materializar políticas, programas e iniciativas que promuevan el empoderamiento de estas mujeres. Conclusiones: Entender el perfil de las mujeres rurales es vital para comprender cómo interactúan con los recursos disponibles. Esto permite identificar dinámicas particulares y diseñar intervenciones para el desarrollo de capacidades y habilidades específicas para el empoderamiento y el emprendimiento femenino en la agricultura. De esta manera, se puede responder mejor a sus necesidades específicas y fomentar un cambio positivo a nivel individual, comunitario y social, contribuyendo al desarrollo rural sostenible e inclusivo.
