Integración de la economía circular y el desarrollo sostenible en las empresas del sector turístico: propuesta de un modelo de indicadores para su implementación

Introducción: La economía circular y la sostenibilidad son conceptos fundamentales para las empresas turísticas en la actualidad. Lo complejo es medir su grado de sostenibilidad, de ahí la necesidad de mecanismos que lo cuantifiquen, pudiendo así conocer la realidad y aspectos a mejorar. Metodología: El objetivo del presente trabajo es proponer un modelo de medida de la sostenibilidad en las empresas del sector turístico. Para ello se realiza una revisión sistemática de la literatura (RSL), buscando indicadores actuales de medida de la sostenibilidad ya validados y aplicables al sector turístico. Resultados: A partir de dichos indicadores se realiza la propuesta de un modelo de medida de la sostenibilidad turística. Discusión: Para saber si realmente las empresas del sector están contribuyendo de modo sostenible, se hace necesario medir de algún modo su actividad en términos de sostenibilidad. Conclusiones: Los indicadores bien desarrollados ayudan a detectar problemas de sostenibilidad en las empresas del sector turístico, o incluso en destinos turísticos.
