Gestión de la innovación, madurez de procesos y competitividad en pymes: un enfoque PLS-SEM en economías emergentes

Introducción: En entornos empresariales caracterizados por alta competencia, restricciones de recursos y necesidad de adaptación continua, las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes) enfrentan el desafío de desarrollar capacidades organizacionales que sustenten su competitividad. En este contexto, la gestión de la innovación y la madurez de procesos se configuran como mecanismos clave para explicar el desempeño organizacional, particularmente en economías emergentes. Metodología: Se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo con alcance explicativo mediante modelos de ecuaciones estructurales (PLS-SEM). La muestra estuvo conformada por pymes en un contexto regional de una economía emergente, con 160 observaciones individuales recolectadas a partir de múltiples informantes por organización. Se utilizó un instrumento tipo Likert y bootstrapping con 5000 submuestras. Resultados: Se identificaron relaciones positivas y significativas entre innovación y madurez de procesos (β = 0.682), innovación y competitividad (β = 0.421), y madurez de procesos y competitividad (β = 0.356). Se evidenció además una mediación parcial (β = 0.243) y un adecuado poder explicativo (R² = 0.587). Discusión: La innovación impacta la competitividad de manera más efectiva cuando se articula con procesos organizacionales estructurados. Conclusiones: La competitividad en pymes depende de la integración entre innovación y madurez de procesos, consolidando un enfoque organizacional sistémico aplicable a economías emergentes.
