Introduction: Environmental and cultural leisure has significant implications for human development. Environment and culture create a space of satisfaction, and grandparents emphasize its potential in practice with their grandchildren. The aim of the study was to examine whether the practice of shared environmental and cultural leisure between grandparents and grandchildren is linked to the personal and family characteristics of the grandparents. Methodology: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted with 357 grandparents with grandchildren (aged 6-12) from the north of Spain. Results: Cultural leisure is the most widespread, while environmental leisure is practiced by more than two-thirds of the participants, with women sharing more leisure activities. Age is a determining factor, and the household situation does not provide conclusive data. Discussion: Gender and age are facilitating factors for the practice of leisure in intergenerational contexts, although further research is needed. Conclusions: The environmental and cultural dimensions of leisure promote positive experiences and can be defined as a social phenomenon, especially within the framework of intergenerational relationships.
