The case of Grimau and the law of the democratic memory

Introduction: The Democratic Memory Law has among its objetives to promote the investigation of everything that can help to understand and overcome the civil war and francoism, therefore, Grimau is presented as a victim and the treatment of his case in Radio España Independiente, as an active witness. Methodology: All the news of the Grimau Case broadcast by Radio España Independiente “La Pirenaica” since Julian Grimau was arrested and sentenced to death were selected and classified, obtenaed, from the Communist Party Archive (Radio Section). Results: During this period of time, he provide a large amount of data that serves to clarify the Grimau Case and relate it to LMD. Discussions: The legal implementation of these articles is related and questioned with the radio broadcasts of the Pirenaica. Conclusions: The Grimau Case is an exceptional witness for the Law of the Democratic Memory, demonstrating all the irregularities and unclarified aspects of the arrest and execution of Julian Grimau which will be complemented in the future with the application of a new law on official secrets.
