Abstract

Introduction. This study has analised the Late Show format oldest television precedent on USA and Spain and its connection to the first type aired on La Sexta channel. Methodology: Case Study. The researcher was part of the artistic team in the programme studied. This has been completed with qualitative and quantitative content analysis. Results: The structure and contents fragmentation unified by the host narrative, the show on La Sexta gets commun characteristics from the american format, even from the first precedent premiered in 1950 on a local tv from New York. Discussions: About other elements. They experiment an adaptation subject to the director and host journalistic career (unlike the american show, he´s not a comedian), the target, the colaborators, the schedule and the channel. Conclusions: Although Sabías a lo que venías finds its more significant precedents in the shows Estamos todos locos y The Tonight Show, keeps the comedy sense, the essence and the idiosyncrasy from the first show of the history classified in this format and based on scenic genres from the beggining of XX century in Broadway.

D. cum laude in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid, she is an expert in media, Goya Awards, equality, cinema, advertising and digital platforms. Researcher and author of numerous scientific publications on these subjects. Among her scientific production, her research on equality applied to media and cinema stand out.
