El crédito productivo privado y su impacto en el desarrollo económico en el Ecuador

Abstract

Introduction: The relationship between GDP and private credit, foreign direct investment, inflation, country risk and unemployment is analyzed. The objective of this study is to know the relationship between GDP and private credit based on the economic growth of Ecuador, 2000-2023. Methodology: Application of a multiple linear regression statistical model based on OLS, taking into account various normality and multicollinearity tests and data hypotheses. Results: The hypothesis is fulfilled that with greater private credit there is greater growth in the economic development of a country. Discussion: The high R-squared value (0.8815) and adjusted R-squared (0.8637) indicate that the model explains a large proportion of the variability in GDP. The significant F-statistic reinforces the joint importance of the independent variables in the model. It is concluded that the model is significant and the selected explanatory variables have a notable impact on GDP. Conclusions: As bank credit increases, GDP increases, while if country risk increases, GDP, credit, employment, and direct foreign investment decrease.
