Abstract

Introduction: After a pandemic and the advent of artificial intelligence, the question arises: How can we teach without being displaced by artificial intelligence? The objectives were to develop a serious game adapted to Deming's theory and to describe students' perceptions.. Methodology: Quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional descriptive design, with a sample of 58 students from the National University of Juliaca. A 15-item Likert scale instrument was applied. Results: A serious game called “La Joyería” was developed. The results indicate that “La Joyería” has been effective in teaching production and quality, merging Kolb's and Deming's theories. Students reported significant learning, particularly in organization, control, time, quality, and decision-making. Discussions: “La Joyería” confirms theoretical benefits and expands opportunities in university education. However, it presents challenges related to resource requirements and the inclusion of control groups. Conclusions: The results show a positive perception of the serious game, allowing students to experience a production and quality control process. It is considered to contribute significantly to their learning.
