Abstract

This monograph explores the impact of cutting-edge technologies in various sectors such as education, industry, and communication. It focuses on emerging applications of artificial intelligence, educational robotics, augmented reality (AR), cybersecurity, the metaverse, and technologies for sustainability. Artificial intelligence is transforming fields like graphic design and audiovisual creation, while augmented reality offers new ways of learning and interaction in education and marketing. Educational robotics promotes technological skills in students, and cybersecurity is essential for protecting data systems, especially in SMEs. The metaverse and its impact on the digital experience are also discussed, as well as the use of technologies for sustainability, such as optimizing water consumption and promoting sustainable mobility. The monograph invites reflection on how these innovations are changing society and improving efficiency across various fields.

Author Biographies

María del Carmen González Rivero, Biblioteca Médica Nacional / INFOMED

She is an information professional with extensive experience in scientific information management, documentation, and education, specializing in health information management. She graduated in Scientific Information and Library Science from the University of Havana and holds a diploma in Health Information Management and in Scientific Journalism, as well as a Master's and Doctorate in Documentation Science from the University of Granada, Spain. She has been the head of the Information Analysis and Selective Dissemination Group at the National Medical Library/Infomed in Cuba, and an assistant professor and senior researcher. Her work as a community manager and social media manager at the National Medical Library has been key in information dissemination. She has led projects like DELFIN, an informational literacy program in Cuba, and the Caribbean Medical Librarians Network (RedBiMeC). She has also been a professor for the Cochrane Database Course in Evidence-Based Medicine and chief editor of the digital journal "Horizontes del Bibliotecario." Her skills include information management, scientific documentation, leadership, project management, community management, and teaching and research. Her approach has always been innovative, significantly contributing to advancements in her field.

Ruth Fernández Hernández, ESIC University

She holds a PhD in Tourism from the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), a Master's in Communication and New Technologies (URJC-ESIC), a Master's in Communication and Advertising (ESIC), a Bachelor's in Communication from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), and a Higher Diploma in Commercial Management and Marketing (ESIC). She is currently the Director of the Academic Department of Communication and Advertising and a professor at ESIC University, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in communication and marketing. Her academic background in various fields has allowed her to combine knowledge areas in both the academic and business sectors. In recent years, she has focused on academia, coordinating two Master's programs in communication and serving as the coordinator of the marketing department at ESIC. She combines her teaching role with research, focusing on new technologies and tourism. Her scientific output includes numerous conferences and articles in national and international high-impact journals, as well as book chapters from leading international publishers. She is also a reviewer for ESIC Publishing and conducts peer reviews for scientific journals. She is a member of scientific committees for international communication and audiovisual media conferences.

Purificación Cruz Cruz, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha

She holds a PhD in Psychopedagogy with a focus on Early Childhood and Family Education. She is a permanent contracted professor at the Faculty of Education in Toledo, Department of Pedagogy, Area of Didactics and School Organization at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. She also teaches in the Master's in Secondary Education and is a guest lecturer in the Master's in Neuro-Pedagogy at the University of Córdoba. She has supervised several doctoral theses and has been a speaker at numerous conferences, parent schools, schools, universities, and various organizations. She has also lectured and collaborated as a professor at the University of Norte in Barranquilla (Colombia) and the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (Mexico). She is the coordinator of teacher training and collaborates as an external evaluator for numerous indexed journals such as Retos, Reice, Revista de Educación, etc. She belongs to many national and international scientific committees. She is the author of more than 38 publications, including articles, books, and book chapters, and has been a coordinator and co-author of several books. She has organized several educational seminars and has a sexennial research recognition. Her research lines include Emotional Intelligence, Creativity, Educational Programming and Legislation, Effective Communication, and her innovation lines focus on Good Teaching Practices in the Classroom.
