Introduction: The document outlines the historical development and importance of agricultural cooperatives in Spain, highlighting their role in rural economies. Cooperatives have been key players in sectors like wine and olive oil, promoting innovation and sustainability. Methodology: The study uses the PRISMA methodology for systematic analyses, including recent studies on technology, governance, and efficiency. Results: Results show that the most successful cooperatives are those adopting technology, improving negotiation power, and diversifying products. It also emphasizes the positive impact of women's participation in governance and the importance of international collaboration. Conclusions: Cooperatives are not only economic but also social and cultural entities, crucial for sustainable rural development.
