Abstract

Introduction: This article is based on the concepts of spectacle and simulation as metaphors of the fundamental core of the future of today's postmodern society. Both the education of the new generations, the values that prevail and, in general, the evolution of thought and humanism are determined by the fact that we live in an artistic capitalism characterized by extreme individualism, by the practically irrational following of the more recognized by the system and by the superficiality of the entertainment world. Methodology: It will be seen how these aspects are perceived with the naked eye in multiple phenomena, such as politics and religion, for which it will be based on the texts of various authors, such as Debord and Baudrillard. Results: This is not a quantitative article, but it will be seen that different social aspects, such as those analyzed, have become products of the mass spectacle. Conclusions: We live in a show that calls for a certain critical reflection and educational alternatives that encourage deep thought, dialogue and humanism that counteract the superficiality and mediatization of the society of the spectacle.
