Abstract

Introduction: Cultural and artistic education impacts cultural awareness, heritage appreciation, creativity, sensitivity, and interpersonal and emotional skills. This study aims to identify the cultural practices of future teachers and their perception of integrating cultural and artistic education in primary education. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted with 107 students from Spain and Portugal using a mixed survey of 25 items to analyze their perceptions. Results: The results show low participation in cultural and artistic activities, although the need for integrating cultural and artistic education in primary education is recognized. Discussion: There is an incongruence between beliefs and personal actions, as students value cultural and artistic education but participate little in cultural activities. Conclusions: It is crucial to foster greater coherence between beliefs and behaviors, promoting more active involvement in cultural activities to enhance the integration of cultural and artistic education in primary education.
