Abstract

Introduction: The Early Childhood Education stage is key in the development of the child, in which he begins to manage his musculoskeletal system and get to know the world, so the risk of accident is high and teachers must be prepared. Methodology: 57 fourth-year students of the Teaching Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Oviedo participated in the study. Completing a questionnaire with open responses on three categories referring to the importance of the teacher, training and action in prevention and first aid. Results: Students point out that the figure of the teacher is key, the training is deficient, and the actions are not entirely adequate. Discussion: The students point out that help and collaboration with other professionals and families is important, indicating in relation to training, the need to quantitatively and qualitatively increase the teachings on this subject in the degree. Conclusions: First aid training in the Teaching Degree must be improved, because the little knowledge acquired in the classroom are not entirely correct.
