Introduction: Initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of maritime resources have emerged throughout the European Union. However, Portugal, with its privileged geostrategic position and deep historical connection to the Sea, can assume a more prominent position. In this context, this article proposes the digitalization of information about the Portuguese Sea, on an interactive and accessible platform. Methodology: To achieve this, in addition to a detailed literature review, the methodology of a Business Intelligence project is followed, with six phases, from the identification of information needs to the analysis and dissemination of the designed solution. Results: The Business Intelligence solution presented compiles and structures maritime data covering the economic, social, cultural, environmental and geopolitical spheres. Discussion: This solution constitutes a valuable resource for policymakers, allowing the adoption of efficient policies for the more sustainable development of the maritime economy. Conclusions: The innovative and pioneering nature of this proposal in Portugal stands out, which aggregates and structures open maritime data in several dimensions on a platform, promoting a comprehensive understanding of the Sea, crucial for sustainable and informed decisions, maritime scientific advancement and the importance of the ocean in Portuguese society.
