Introduction: Photography has been considered as a document to be analyzed and interpreted in a given context, in order to make part of a reality visible. In this work, photography was treated as an archival document to be classified and catalogued as another document for the San Pedro Cholula Municipal Photo Library. Methodology: The Documentary Classification Table (CCD) of the Historical Archive and the Minimum Cataloging of Objects of the University Laboratory of Image and Memory were used. Results: The photographs were identified as the Photographic Collection of the San Pedro Cholula Municipal Photo Library, and these in turn were classified into series of family donations and subseries such as festivities; events in the civic plaza; spaces and places; means of transportation; and daily life. Discussion: By treating the photographs as archival documents, even though they were not produced through a substantive or adjective function by the Photo Library, but rather as a collection of documents made, that is, through family donations. Conclusions: The photographs, when classified and catalogued, will serve as part of the archived memory of the San Pedro Cholula region.
