Relations between Spain and Morocco: A Model towards Strategic Partnership

Introduction: Relations between Spain and Morocco are going through their best moment, characterized by a strategic partnership in multiple areas. This cooperation is fundamental for regional stability and development in the Mediterranean. Methodology: This study uses a mixed research approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, to comprehensively analyze the bilateral relations between Spain and Morocco, its historical evolution and transition towards a strategic partnership. Results: The XII High Level Meeting (RAN) between Spain and Morocco in 2023 was a milestone in their bilateral relations, establishing a roadmap to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as economy, security, migration and sustainability. Discussion: The XII RAN between Spain and Morocco marked a milestone in their bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening strategic collaboration to address regional challenges. Conclusions: Relations between Spain and Morocco have evolved from confrontation to strategic cooperation, as demonstrated by the XII RAN. This partnership covers key areas such as economy, security and culture, and has a positive impact on regional stability.
