La tecnología como recurso para optimizar programas de inglés intensivos: destrezas orales

Introducción: Este trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar la utilización e impacto de un módulo virtual voluntario como base de preparación para un curso intensivo de inglés y determinar si este uso muestra alguna diferenciación individual según el sexo, la edad, el nivel de confianza y la percepción del éxito en el aprendizaje, específicamente, en pronunciación y destrezas orales. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio con una muestra de 381 participantes a los que se administró un cuestionario sobre diferentes aspectos del programa, incluida la parte virtual voluntaria. Resultados: Se destaca un interés y uso relativamente bajo en el cómputo global, con unas notables diferencias en función del sexo y la edad. Paralelamente, se observa una importante relación significativa entre la utilización de los recursos digitales y la percepción de mejora comunicativa y confianza. Discusión: Se plantean interesantes relaciones entre las distintas variables utilizadas habiendo referencia a estudios previos que avalan o modulan los resultados. Conclusiones: La utilización de recursos digitales pueden contribuir de forma significativa a una mayor percepción de éxito en el aprendizaje y el nivel de confianza. No obstante, su limitada y desigual utilización hace necesario reforzar su integración para contribuir a la adquisición de la autonomía.
