About the Journal
EPSIR (European Public & Social Innovation Review) with ISSN 2529-9824, is an interdisciplinary electronic journal founded by the Sinnergiak social innovation Group (a research group affiliated with the University of the Basque Country –Spain–). Since 2024, it has been published by the Complutense University Research Group ‘Concilium’ and HISIN (Historia de los Sistemas Informativos). Its mission is to disseminate proposals for the creation, development, and implementation of innovative solutions to address social challenges and improve the quality of life of individuals and communities.
Through research published in article format, EPSIR seeks to generate a positive academic-scientific impact in areas such as social, political, and economic development, as well as fostering democracy, education, health, the environment, gender equality, and social inclusion, in addition to exploring the implications of innovation policies and/or social management.
In line with its mission, and thanks to its electronic nature, EPSIR provides fully open access for both reading and publishing; that is, no charges are applied either for article processing (APC) or access.
Since 2024, the journal has increased the number of articles published annually and adopted a continuous publication system, whereby articles are published individually in electronic format as soon as the editorial process is completed. This new frequency model allows for:
• Accelerated dissemination,
• An increased number of published articles—without ever compromising scientific excellence,
• Facilitated academic dialogue,
• Enhanced collaboration and academic advancement,
• Maintaining specialized knowledge relevant in real-time, and
• Ensuring content remains up to date.
Articles submitted to EPSIR undergo double-blind peer review, which guarantees impartial, objective, and transparent evaluation, facilitating their inclusion in internationally recognized databases, repositories, and indexes. The journal includes research articles, reviews, and book reviews, with the aim of disseminating new knowledge, best practices, and experiences in the fields of innovation and Sociology.
Since 2024, the official language of the journal is Spanish, although contributions in their original languages of English, French, Italian, and Portugese are accepted.
