Abstract

Introduction: The article shows the results of the urban garden workshop in a vulnerable neighborhood of Aguascalientes. The literature shows that projects that involve the SDGs as well as educational innovation require community participation to achieve the proposed effectiveness. Methodology: The methodology followed is Participatory Action Research, from a workshop for two groups of girls between 6 and 12 years old. Activities were carried out that met two objectives. Those related to food sovereignty and those with personal and community development. Results: The development of awareness about food sovereignty is shown with learning regarding the distinction between sowing, planting and germination, the planning and execution of sowing and those related to personal and community development, specifically focused on the emotional level / emotional and in autonomy and responsibility. Discussion: It is shown that food sovereignty must be anchored with experiences and personal development for meaningful participation to truly exist. Conclusions: reflection on the implications of workshops that raise awareness among participants regarding food sovereignty and at the same time promote the integral development of their participants.
