Abstract

Introduction: Alternative and community media in Colombia have historically become scenarios where the most remote populations converge around the construction of social change, in contexts traditionally permeated by social phenomena such as the armed conflict and its edges. Methodology: With the netnography, from a mixed approach, a non-participant observation was developed in 13 departments: Córdoba, Sucre, Atlántico, Bolívar, Magdalena, Cesar, La Guajira, San Andrés, Antioquia, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Norte de Santander. Results: Globally, 537 alternative and community media were identified, with an important variety of topics, because of the sociocultural realities that are present in the country; highlighting the validity of radio as a means of communication, with a high frequency of use, based on the findings of the central research developed.  Results: Proin pharetra nonummy pede. Suspendisse dui purus, scelerisque at, pretium mattis. Discussion: Alternative and community communication has not lost its validity, despite the facilities offered by the information and knowledge society; on the contrary, it has mutated into new scenarios where its scope has greater coverage. Conclusions: It is of utmost importance to align public and private efforts around the strengthening of community and alternative media, as guarantors of the social fabric
