Abstract

This monograph addresses the accelerated transformation of higher education in the face of the social, technological and environmental challenges of the 21st century. Its objective is to explore the latest trends in the renewal of educational content, with emphasis on innovative methodologies, transversal competencies and the integral formation of students. It highlights the importance of training professionals with critical, creative and collaborative skills, in addition to technical knowledge, through interdisciplinary approaches and the integration of competencies in sustainability and social responsibility. It also analyzes gender equity and cultural diversity in university curricula, as well as new forms of evaluation that favor integral learning. This monograph is aimed at researchers and education professionals interested in pedagogical innovation, the formation of global citizens and the creation of inclusive and equitable educational strategies.

Author Biographies

Begoña Serrano Arnáez, University of Granada

She has developed an outstanding research work focused on the study of archaeological materiality, consolidated with her international PhD in 2016, qualified cum laude and recognized with extraordinary prize. This achievement marked the beginning of a line of research that, over time, has evolved towards heritage education. Both areas are reflected in more than 70 scientific publications (23 articles and 47 book chapters), 65 contributions to congresses, and his participation in 17 competitive R&D&I projects, among which he is currently leading a project financed by FEDER funds, in addition to leading 15 non-competitive projects.
In the teaching field, he has six years of university experience, endorsed by a Certificate of Quality of Teaching Activity with a rating of excellent. He has directed 22 Final Degree Projects and 4 Master's Degree Projects, led three Teaching Innovation projects and participated in another one. His commitment to training extends to the organization of courses and seminars aimed at professional development.
Its transfer work includes initiatives such as the Researchers' Night, Science Week and workshops aimed at different audiences, highlighting its commitment between archaeological research and society.

Maite Amondaraín Garrido, University of Deusto

PhD in Education Sciences from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) since June 2022 with outstanding, Cum Laude unanimously, international mention and Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Graduated in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education by the UNIR (2014). Master's Degree in Bilingual Education from UNIR (2016) and Online Master in English Studies (OMiES) from the University of Jaén (UJA, 2018). University teaching experience in the Bachelor's Degrees in Primary and Early Childhood Education and in the Master's Degree in Bilingual Education at UNIR and in the Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education at the University of Deusto (San Sebastián, Guipúzcoa). Teaching experience in the educational stages of Primary and Early Childhood (academic years 2014, 2015 and 2016). Participation in several teaching innovation projects. Main lines of research: multimodal discourse analysis, translingualism in education, CLIL, EMI and online teaching. Stay in an international research center (University of Stirling, UK, 2019-2020). Excellence Grant for Research Staff Training 2017 awarded by the UNIR. On the Move Grant awarded by the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK (SRUK-CERU) and the Association of Spanish Universities (CRUE).

Sara Navarro Lalanda, Roma Tre University

Professor at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre and collaborates as a lecturer at the Università Europea di Roma. He has been Professor and Academic Coordinator of the Master in Music Pedagogy at the International University of La Rioja (2021-2024) and lecturer at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (2016-2024). In turn, he has collaborated with the International University of Valencia (2017-2021), Università Guglielmo Marconi (2015-2016) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2008-2013).
PhD with European mention in Music (2013) and in Education (2023) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Diploma in Music Teaching, Degree in History and Science of Music (UAM), and advanced degree in Musicology and Musical Language (RCSMM). Her training includes master's degrees in Spanish-American musical heritage, documentation management, psycho-pedagogy and technology for education. She has published in numerous scientific journals (such as Revista de Musicología, Nassarre, Revista de Humanidades, Musica Docta) and has recently written the book Il mecenatismo musicale di Maria Cristina di Borbone-Due Sicilie (1806-1878) published by Società Editrice di Musicologia (2023). His main lines of research deal with music from the 18th to the 21st century, with emphasis on pedagogical, documentary and court studies approaches.
