Abstract

Introduction: This research analyzes the relationships between users, digitalization, and sustainability as key factors in enhancing innovation, particularly within the framework of open innovation. Methodology: A qualitative and reflective approach was used, based on a systematic review of studies addressing user collaboration, digital processes, and sustainability. Results: Findings show that external users not only contribute new ideas but also help improve the positioning of products more aligned with current needs. Digitalization has facilitated interaction through co-creation platforms, crowdsourcing, and living labs, making innovation processes more accessible and participatory. Discussion: Sustainability has become a central axis of corporate strategies, enabling more agile, inclusive, and environmentally responsible innovation processes. These developments support the implementation of circular economy models and ecodesign, reducing environmental impact. This synergy enhances the effectiveness and responsibility of open innovation in response to global challenges. Conclusions: The study highlights the importance of strengthening collaborative approaches that integrate technology and sustainability into user participation, fostering more effective and responsible open innovation aligned with contemporary demands.
