Abstract

Introduction:The study has been conducted through a bibliographic review of the existing literature, in order to establish a solid foundation for the empirical analysis. Thus, concepts such as navigation systems, applications, and their types were analyzed, which served as background and provided context for Waze. Methodology: To conduct the study, a bibliographic review of the existing literature was carried out. Subsequently, an analysis of the application was performed through both qualitative and quantitative methods, creating a master table that catalogs the features and functionalities of the Waze community. Results: The results show that there are different types of users, who are retained through rewards that position them. Discussions: In this study, an analysis was conducted on the role of users in Waze and how the community participates in the application. Conclusions: the analysis confirms that the community collaborates both in the development and functioning of the application, participating as informers, verifiers, and content creators.
