Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to observe differences in the labor conditions of Mexican professionals when entering the labor market using social capital compared to those employing other forms of labor market insertion. Methodology: This is a quantitative, comparative, cross-sectional study based on the results of the National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE) conducted in Mexico during the first half of 2023. Mean tests, Levene's test, and Student's t-test were employed to achieve the objective. Two-dimensional analysis with contingency tables using Chi-Square and Phi correlation statistics was conducted using SPSS v.23. Results and Discussion: Findings indicate no differences in income levels and weekly working hours between those utilizing social capital and those who do not. However, significant disparities were observed in access to healthcare and social benefits among the studied population. Conclusions: These results prompt further investigation into the positive effects attributed to social capital in labor market integration.
