Introduction: On the 25th anniversary of the Bologna Process, we analyze the direction in which training and research in the former field of Information Sciences are moving in Spain. Methodology: Based on the list of degrees from the Ministry of Universities under the item “Journalism and Information” (n=321), we carried out an analysis of the nomenclatures of the bachelors, double degrees, master’s and doctoral degrees. Results: The results suggest that as the level of studies progresses from degree to master degree, the offer becomes more complex, complete and specialized, but more globalizing in doctorates (1); that terms like 'information' and 'communication', more general than 'journalism', are gaining ground (2), and that combinations of degrees (in the case of double degrees) or surnames (especially in the case of masters degrees) delimit the general term by indicating the specialty, field or training area that will be developed in their programs (3). Conclusions: With the object of study as a limit (the names of the degrees, not their teaching programs), the conclusions point towards an adaptation of the studies in two directions: the incorporation of technological skills and the need for training in the field of communication.
