Regeneración urbana en América Latina: Estrategias sostenibles para la resiliencia social y ambiental en ciudades del futuro

Introducción: La regeneración urbana en América Latina se ha consolidado como estrategia para revertir fragmentación socioespacial y deterioro de barrios. Metodología: Se desarrolló un análisis cualitativo‑comparativo de diez casos representativos en contextos diversos, organizando la evaluación en cuatro categorías: desarrollo local, metabolismo urbano, conectividad e infraestructura verde. Resultados: Se identificó que la participación comunitaria sostenida fortalece la apropiación del espacio y la cohesión social; la gestión eficiente de agua y residuos, junto con soluciones basadas en naturaleza, mejora el microclima y la resiliencia; y la conectividad peatonal y ciclista articula redes barriales y acceso a servicios. Discusión: Los casos exitosos combinan gobernanza colaborativa, educación ambiental y movilidad sostenible; no obstante, persisten retos de escalamiento, equidad territorial y monitoreo de impactos. Conclusiones: La regeneración urbana efectiva exige enfoques integrales que integren participación ciudadana, sostenibilidad ambiental y movilidad, incorporando criterios de género y cuidado para garantizar beneficios equitativos. Se proponen lineamientos replicables para ciudades intermedias de la región orientados a consolidar economías locales, reforzar la infraestructura verde y mejorar la calidad de vida.
