Abstract

Introduction: The study analyzes the relationship between depression and lifestyle in university students, considering variables such as age and gender. It aimed to determine the effect of lifestyle on depression using Odds Ratio (OR) and a 95% confidence interval (CI). Methodology: A correlational design was used, segmenting data by gender and age. Binary logistic regression and chi-square tests were employed with SPSS and R Studio. OR and CI were calculated to quantify risks, and ROC curves were used to evaluate the models. Results: The chi-square test found no significant association between lifestyle and depression (χ² = 0.08, p = 0.7). Binary logistic regression also showed no significant relationship between lifestyle and depression (B = -0.04, p = 0.475). Discussion: The analysis found no significant relationship between lifestyle and depression. The lack of significance suggests that other factors might have a greater impact. Conclusions: The study concludes that although lifestyle did not show a significant association with depression, logistic regression and ROC curves were useful for evaluating risk factors.
