Introduction: Technological innovations are transforming organizations, and Digital Transformation (DT) has become vital for their survival in the post-COVID-19 context. Higher education institutions (HEIs) are also facing this need for change. Methodology: A case study was conducted in a Spanish HEI, collecting opinions from external stakeholders, including students, graduates and employers, to identify factors that facilitate DT. Results: The results indicate that the adoption of agile methodologies, continuous improvement, automation and digital talent management are essential. In addition, collaboration and engagement of external stakeholders are critical for effective TD. Conclusions: HEIs must adopt proactive technologies and methodologies that improve educational quality and strengthen their ability to adapt to the changing environment, thus ensuring their relevance and growth in the future.
