Abstract

Introduction: This research analyzes the current state of the adoption of agroecological practices worldwide. Methodology: Through a review of scientific publications from 1990 to 2024, the main trends, factors, and drivers influencing the adoption of agroecology are identified. Results: The results show that most research has been conducted in the last five years, with a significant focus on sustainability, climate change, and biodiversity. Discussions: Structural barriers such as the lack of favorable public policies and the need to integrate innovative technologies with traditional knowledge to facilitate the adoption of these practices are highlighted. Conclusions: Future research should focus on the long-term impact of agroecological practices and on creating policies that encourage their implementation.
