Abstract

Introduction: It is important to analyze the needs of the Northern Aburrá Valley region, as characterizing it reveals its strengths, limitations, needs, and opportunities. Objective: To analyze the dynamic capacities associated with knowledge management for sustainable territorial development, with the aim of transforming it and overcoming current economic and social gaps. Methodology: An exploratory, qualitative design was used, employing the Delphi method. Results: High levels were found in the following dynamic capacities: business, science and technology, knowledge management, and human talent. Medium levels were found in co-creation of business models and experience in generating value for stakeholders. Low levels were found in business dynamic capacities related to knowledge application. Discussions: In the phases of knowledge management, capture was found to be at a high level, co-creation and generation at a medium level, and application at a low level, which directly impacts territorial development. Conclusions: Evidence is provided of the impact of knowledge management phases as a dynamic business capability on the sustainable territorial development of the North of the Aburrá Valley, highlighting the well-evaluated stages and identifying the phases in which actions must be taken to generate value for stakeholders, in order to be competitive and sustainable.
