Introduction: This study analyzes the relationship between university students' entrepreneurial intentions and their interest in the FinTech sector, using the Theory of Planned Behavior as a framework. Methodology: A quantitative and exploratory approach was adopted. A survey based on previous literature was administered to 524 students from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, selected using the ORSEE database. Data collection took place in August 2024, and the analysis was conducted using partial least squares (PLS) methodology, which is suitable for evaluating multiple variables and their relationships. Results: Students with positive attitudes toward entrepreneurship in FinTech showed a greater intention to become entrepreneurs. Furthermore, a favorable social environment significantly influences entrepreneurial motivation. Self-efficacy was also identified as a key factor: those who are confident in their abilities are more likely to translate their intentions into concrete actions. Discussion: These findings underscore the importance of considering both personal and contextual factors in fostering university entrepreneurship. Conclusions: Promoting favorable attitudes towards FinTech entrepreneurship and creating a supportive environment are essential elements to strengthen the entrepreneurial aspirations of university students.
