Abstract

Introduction: This study investigates the interaction of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental strategies and their impact on the competitiveness of companies in the Canton of Sucre, Manabí, Ecuador Methodology: Using a descriptive scenario-based design with 140 participants, this research explores how corporate social responsibility influences consumer purchasing behavior. Additionally, the effects on public perception, such as consumer trust and reduced business risks, are examined Results: Results: 53% of respondents have a positive purchasing intention toward companies that implement Corporate Social Responsibility activities. Furthermore, positive perceptions about environmental management and recycling programs are shown, with 42% suggesting that companies should attract consumers and improve business competitiveness. Discussions: The findings of this research reveal that companies in the Sucre Canton must prioritize CSR not only as a legal requirement, but also as a clear awareness of the environmental and social impact of their activities. Conclusions: The implementation of environmental technology and satisfaction with businesses that promote Corporate Social Responsibility programs reflect that consumers value these efforts, which could increase loyalty and trust in companies.

Engineer in Accounting and Auditing, with two master's degrees in Business Administration and Tourism Business Management. Specialist in Microfinance Administration, currently pursuing a PhD in Public and Private Planning at the National University of Tumbes, Peru. Lecturer at Laica Eloy Alfaro University in Manabí since 2019, with more than six years of experience in university teaching at the Bahía de Caráquez and Pedernales campuses. With a background in Accounting and Auditing, his commitment to teaching and learning seeks to promote knowledge management among young people.
