Abstract

Introduction: The fruit sector in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) has experienced significant growth, positioning itself as a key player in international markets. This has intensified the need to optimize logistics and management within its supply chains. Methodology: This study conducts a mapping review analyzing the scientific literature on logistics and management in LAC fruit supply chains. A systematic search in the SCOPUS database retrieved 83 documents, which were analyzed using bibliometric techniques, co-authorship networks, and thematic mapping. Results: A significant increase in scientific production was observed over the past decade, with Brazil and the United States leading international collaboration. Four main thematic clusters were identified: pest control, climate change adaptation, efficient irrigation management, and species diversity. Discussion: The integration of technologies such as IoT and artificial intelligence emerges as a strategic approach to improve logistics efficiency and sustainability by enhancing traceability and reducing losses. Conclusions: The thematic fragmentation found calls for interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches that combine technological innovation with sustainable practices. An interdisciplinary research agenda is proposed to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of LAC fruit supply chains.
