UNE Cartographie de la vulnérabilité et de la résilience : analyse spatiale et stratégies d’atténuation des violences à caractère culturel faites aux femmes et aux enfants

Résumé

Introduction : Cette étude cartographie la vulnérabilité à la violence et les mécanismes de résilience chez les femmes et les enfants de la ville de Sorong, dans le sud-ouest de la Papouasie. Méthodologie : une approche mixte, combinant plusieurs méthodes et un modèle convergent parallèle, a été utilisée. Des données quantitatives ont été recueillies auprès de 696 répondants (348 femmes et 348 enfants), et des données qualitatives auprès de 5 informateurs. Résultats : La violence est spatialement concentrée : les femmes sont confrontées à des violences physiques concentrées dans les centres urbains et à des risques sexuels dans certains quartiers. Les enfants présentent des schémas similaires (46,6 % de violences physiques ; 36,8 % de violences psychologiques ; 2,3 % de violences sexuelles) et une forte vulnérabilité numérique (33,0 % d’utilisation non supervisée ; 33,6 % de contenus préjudiciables ; 27,3 % de cyberharcèlement ; environ 40 % ignorent l’importance de signaler les violences). Chez les femmes, les risques sont principalement liés aux traumatismes (39,7 %), aux conflits familiaux (45,1 %) et à l’insécurité du domicile (39,1 %). Discussions : Malgré cela, les femmes font preuve de résilience grâce à leur capacité de prise de décision (57,2 %), leur capacité de rétablissement (59,2 %) et leur spiritualité (≥ 50,9 %). Les enfants dépendent fortement du soutien familial (54,6 %). L’accès limité aux services formels constitue un défi constant (38,5 % des femmes et 31,9 % des enfants connaissent les mécanismes d’orientation juridique et psychologique). Conclusions : L’étude recommande des stratégies d’atténuation intégrées, notamment des interventions de proximité dans les zones urbaines sensibles, l’autonomisation économique des femmes par le biais de micro-entreprises ancrées dans la culture, la transformation des normes patriarcales et le renforcement de la protection de l’enfance dans l’espace numérique, afin de rompre le cycle de violence et de promouvoir une sécurité durable à Sorong.
